Getting Your Kansas DMV Records
Do you know what's on your Kansas DMV records? You might think your record is clear or only has a few issues, but unless you actually view your official driving records, you may not know. In fact, you could have erroneous information on traffic violations, and this could be the reason your auto insurance premiums are higher than they should be. You can get your Kansas DMV records from the Kansas Dept of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Records Division online, in person, or by mail, and here is the information you need to get started.

What Records Can I Receive?

You may request your Kansas driving record or information about your vehicle title and registration. Here is what's on a typical Kansas driving record:
  • Name
  • Birth date
  • Address
  • Driver license status (issued and expiration dates)
  • Traffic accidents
  • Traffic violation convictions - points are not listed because Kansas doesn't use a point system.
  • Driver license issues like suspensions
  • DUI information
There are three kinds of driver license records available:
  • Limited (online)
  • Un-certified
  • Certified

Title Report

When you request title reports, it will list the vehicles you own. It also tells if each vehicle has a current and valid registration. If you have a lien against a vehicle, this info will also show up.

Why Check Your Records?

False info could not only raise your auto insurance premiums; it could put you in jeopardy of a driver's license suspension. Also, if you suspect you have been a victim of identity theft, checking your driver and registration records is a good way to avoid major problems in the future. If you see errors on your records, call the DMV at 785- 296-3671 for assistance.
